A Natural Acne Remedy – Rose Water

In this article I’ll teach you how rose water can be a natural acne remedy, what rose water does and how to use it.

The rose flower has been of significant value to a variety of cultures for many years. In western cultures the rose is generally used for its pleasant fragrance and yes in Asia it has been used for medicinal purposes for various ailments such as acne, scars and wrinkles.

How is Rose Water a natural acne remedy?

The chemical composition of the rose flower is extremely complex as it contains over 300 chemical ingredients. The most significant ones that are useful as a natural acne remedy are Phenyl ethanol which is a natural antiseptic and disinfectant, and Eugenol which is anti-microbial and astringent.

Both of these compounds are effective for use against acne and some other skin ailments. The root cause of acne is an excess production of sebum which accumulates in the sebaceous glands. The antiseptic and anti-microbial properties of the rose water can kill the bacteria that leads to this over-production thus preventing the acne flare-up.

How to Use Rose Water as a Natural Acne Remedy

There are two main ways in which rose water can be used as a natural acne remedy. The first way is simply to apply the rose water directly to the affected area and use it like a facial mask. The second method is to use aromatherapy.

Instead of rose water, you can purchase the essential oil, rose oil which contains the essential extract of the rose and then use this in a variety of ways as part of an aromatherapy treatment. You can mix a few drops of the rose oil with a carrier oil (or even olive oil) and then massage this gently into the affected areas.

If you have acne in more difficult to reach areas such as the back, you can try taking a bath with a few drops of rose oil added to the water.

Lastly, there are many cosmetic products that contain rose water or rose extract such as moisturizers, facial cleansers and so on.

Healthy Foods In Orange Can Prevent Heart Disease Too!

Eating fruit and vegetables is undoubtedly one of the best and surest ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Fruit and vegetables in bright orange can in fact help to boost our immune system as they contain beta carotene and bioflavonoids, which are essential in reducing the risk of cancer and heart disease. They also help maintain good eyesight and glowing skin.

Carrots, oranges, peaches, and pumpkin are a few good representatives for fruit and vegetables in orange.

Carrots are believed to be originated in the Middle East and central Asia. They are considered as root vegetables. Over 100 varieties of carrot are available and they appear in various colors: yellow, purple, white, red, and orange. Raw and cooked carrots are an excellent source of vitamins A and C, folic acid and potassium. Pick and buy those that are boringly colored and firm. Raw or cooked carrots can be eaten alone or as a salad, side dish, and as a dessert. Instead of being thrown away, the head of a carrot can be used to enhance flavor and nutrients to soup and sauces.

Native to China, orange trees have been cultivated in Asia for more than 4,000 years and oranges have become one of the most popular fruits around the world. Oranges are commonly eaten alone but their essential oils and essence are also used in pasties and desserts. Oranges can be incorporated in the recipe of making food such as duck, port and seafood. Oranges can be kept for about a week under room temperature while candid and dried orange peel must be stored in an air-tight container.

Halloween will probably pop up your mind when mentioning pumpkin. Being part of a squash family, the hard and fibrous pumpkin is a great ingredient for soup. It can also used in making desserts such as pumpkin pie and pumpkin jam. During summer, the seasonal crook-neck squash with a light orange hue will avail and it can be used as a main meal. The turban squash which is in deep orange and dark green is an ideal ingredient for desserts because of its nutty, sweet flavors. It is available only during winter.

Velvety on the outside with honey-flavored flesh, peaches are excellent candied, canned, dried, frozen or cooked. Peaches can also used to decorate and flavor cakes, tarts, salads, and yogurt. Due to its easily-spoiled nature, peaches should be handled with care and should be stored in fridge, which can be kept up to 3 to 4 days. Peaches are excellent source of vitamin A and C and niacin whereas dried peaches are rich in iron, zinc, and riboflavin.

In conclusion, eating healthily does not necessarily mean that we have to stick to boring and tasteless meals. Fruits and vegetables can not only add colors and flavors to our meal, but also provide us with a whole lot of nutrition that can help us prevent heart disease as well as other diseases.

Silver Jewelry And Health

Much is being said about the health benefits of wearing jewelry made of silver. This goes without saying that it is still a debated issue. There is definitely a long track of traditions, claiming that the wearing of silver jewelry is good for ones health.

The Greek physician, Hippocrates (ca. 460 BC ca. 370 BC), who is called the father of medicine, wrote that silver had beneficial healing and anti-disease properties. Silver is known to have a toxic effect on some bacteria, viruses, algae and fungi. Exactly how germicidal effect of silver works is still not entirely understood, although some theories have been brought forth. Some traditions attest that eating with silver spoons results in healthier lives when compared with those who eat with spoons made of other materials. Some also used to place them in water storage areas for purifying water.

Findings in scientific studies show that that silver rings reduce the symptoms of arthritis. The findings further show that there were some sure health benefits derived by wearing silver rings particularly for increasing blood circulation, and controlling hypertension and finger joint deformity. Some say that when silver is absorbed through skin, it cures muscular aches.

Many people in Asia also still strongly believes in the health benefits of wearing jewelry made of silver and other similar metals. Asian alternate medicine practitioners such as Reiki healers, chakra healers,Tibetan medicine practitioners and and new age energy healers have been using energy jewelry such as silver jewelry for many years past.

Though the health benefits of silver may still an ongoing dispute, it is a fact that silver is now often used in making medical equipment such as urinary catheters and breathing tubes. This is because silver will kill bacteria allowing for a faster healing process. Knowing all this, you can see that silver does indeed have properties that can have a positive contribution to your health. Wearing a piece of silver jewelry may not guarantee a perfect health, but it will most likely contribute to a better one.

The English Bullmastiff

The English Bullmastiffs are a breed of domestic dogs with a solid build and short muzzle. They were originally developed by the British gamekeepers of the 19th century to guard their estates and to immobilize poachers. The English Bullmastiffs are very quiet dogs and they rarely bark.

History of The English Bullmastiff

Most of the breed experts are of the opinion that the modern day English Bullmastiffs are similar in shape and size to their ancestors.Mastiffs were originally found in Asia and the original ancestors were mostly like the English mastiffs which are extremely tall, muscular and weighed a great deal. The mastiffs were brought from Asia by the Romans who crossed over the Swiss Alps in search of land and for war. Thus the Mastiffs became popular in Europe and many varieties of the Mastiff breed began to grow. The English used them to guard their castles and they were also used as war dogs.Even the nomads used the English Bullmastiffs to guard their camps and they were used as cattle herding and bull baiting dogs.By the 1900s the English Bullmastiffs were nearly extinct in England but they became popular in America and they are the most popular breed.

Country of Origin of English Bullmastiff

In England the Bullmastiff was bred by crossing the English Mastiff with the Bulldog and such crosses were done even during the 1700s.However, the modern Bullmastiff is a breed of the crosses made during the late 1800s.The speed of the Bulldog was combined with the strength of the Mastiff to make them a very powerful breed of Mastiffs, which were used by wealthy estate owners to chase and fight off the game poachers.Originally English Bullmastiffs were bred with darker coats but the estate owners preferred the lighter coated breed.

Size and Description of the English Bullmastiff

You have to remember that there may be some variations in the description of an English Bullmastiff but they are all similar in size and shape. The English Bullmastiff has a large, wrinkly head and a short, wide and dark nozzle. It has wide nostrils and round, amber eyes. The v-shaped ears are floppy and hang close to the face and it has a pronounced stop at the point where the muzzle meets the forehead. They have long, thin tails. The male Mastiffs have a shoulder height of 63-68 cm and weigh 45-60 kg whereas the female has a shoulder height of 61-66 cm and weigh 45-54 kg. Mastiffs exceeding these dimensions are discouraged by breeders. There are many types of Mastiffs which include the English, Bull, Neapolitan,Tibetan and French Mastiffs. The most popular are the English and the Bull Mastiffs.English Mastiffs are the largest of the breeds and sometimes they weigh nearly 200 pounds. The one major difference between the English and the Bull Mastiffs is the English Mastiffs are stockier and 30 inches in height while the Bull Mastiffs are not taller than 27 inches. Another difference between the two breeds is the Bull Mastiffs have extremely powerful heads that are wider and their body is more sleek and muscular.Though there is a debate over the originality of the two breeds, most breeders consider the English Mastiff as the original breed. The Neapolitan Mastiffs have wrinkles on their entire body, including the muzzle, chest, neck, underbelly and legs. They are shorter and smaller than the English and Bull Mastiffs. The French mastiffs are shorter and stockier and they weigh around 140 pounds. They have a much wider head and they are solid red in color from head to toe including their muzzle.

Acne Natural Home Remedy With Diet As Cause And Cure

In the USA, about 85 percent of all teenagers will suffer with acne with many of these persons carrying the affliction into their adult years. Nonetheless, there is a very effective home treatment and cure for acne which is certainly not a normal state of health. Without a doubt, the waves of hormones that come with puberty are responsible for an increase in the secretion of sebum (skin oil) which is associated with the onslaught of acne. Some researchers have forwarded the theory that acne is a malady that is genetically transmitted. Others have supported the idea that external conditions such as the food we eat are the most important factors. In our western culture that consumes 47% of calories from fats and oils (this is an enormous amount it should be 10%), genetic factors can have a significant part to play in how prone a person might be to developing acne. To really know whether or not diet is the dominant factor in causing acne, we would have to show that acne is missing in cultures that have diets that are significantly varied from what Americans eat.

Your doctor will mostly likely parrot the reigning dogma that acne and excess oil in and on your skin are not related to what you eat. When you hear this, ask to see the evidence. You will then witness this man of science falling into speechlessness with nothing more than empty platitudes. This inaccurate data goes back to a lone article written by Dr. James Fulton in the Journal of the American Medical Association in 1969. In addition, the conclusions of this study have been rightly criticized and effectively skewered for more than twenty-five years. Because of this misinformation, many millions suffer.

Thirty teenagers were studied by Dr. Fulton (16 boys and 14 girls) who were patients at a clinic for acne. Also studied were thirty-five young male adult prison inmates with moderate to mild acne conditions. The study was funded by the Chocolate Manufacturers Association of America. They provided the participants with two varieties of candy bars one contained chocolate and the other did not. The contents of both bars were primarily sugar and fat and had closely matched calories (592 and 557 per candy bar). The participants were asked to consume one bar or the other each day for four weeks. No other aspect of their diet was changed for the duration of the experiment. Dr. Fulton and associates then took a census of the pimples. Forty-six of the sixty-five participants showed no change in pimple count. Ten were improved and nine were worse. It should be noted that the amount of sebum (skin oil) was elevated by 60 percent when either of the sugary high-fat candy bars were consumed regardless of whether or not it contained chocolate. It is astonishing that the outcome of this one, very flawed and totally irrelevant (it only examined the effects of chocolate) study is the foundation upon which it is claimed that acne is not caused by diet!

Our Plague of Acne Occurs Solely Where Fat Laden Food is Eaten

Acne forms when the sebaceous follicles or skin pores are blocked with dead skin cells followed by the accumulation of fatty oils and waxy substances (sebum) in the clogged pores. The afflicted pore is then infected with bacteria which causes the inflamed pustule we know as a pimple. The bacteria dine on the sebum. Current orthodox treatment is aimed at unclogging the skin pores, releasing the pocket of sebum, destroying the bacteria and lowering the inflammation by numerous drugs sold by prescription and over-the-counter. As with most diseases in our Western culture, there is a more effective natural treatment and cure for acne which is diet. Diet is the cause and diet is the natural treatment and cure of acne.

Multiple Studies Acne and Traditional Diets

Many studies have been done on persons eating their native traditional diets. Most all of these diets are low in fat and center around the consumption of fruits, vegetables and starches. It has been universally demonstrated that these cultures experience little or no acne. When these same persons move to a location that consumes the typical Western fare, acne will bloom with full fury. This is true for other maladies such as breast cancer, diabetes, prostate, heart disease and obesity. Some thoroughly studied cultures include the Ache of Eastern Paraguay have a diet that provides 70% of calories from cassava (a root vegetable) and the Kitavan Islanders of Papua New Guinea who consume a diet of carbohydrate plant foods providing 70% of calories. Not a single case of acne can be found in these two cultures subsisting mostly on unrefined plant foods that are low in fat.

We see the same results when studying African tribes living on plant-based foods. They are mostly free from acne. Teenagers in southern African Bantu have a 16% occurrence of acne as opposed to white persons in Africa who have an acne incidence of 45%. It has been noted that Zulu persons have developed acne only after they migrate from their tribal village to the larger cities and adopt a Western diet. Persons in both Zambia and Kenya have much less acne than to African Americans living in the USA. Persons from Malaysia consuming diets based on rice have been shown to have little or no problems with acne. A rice-based diet also accounts for the fact that persons living in rural Japan have very few problems with their skin. It should be further noted that persons of European descent living on low fat diets in Crete and Southern Italy have far less acne than persons in Western Europe who consume high fat diets. The Yemenite Jews who eat a healthy low-fat diet report much less acne that do European Jews. So the picture could not be any clearer. Switching from a Western diet based on dairy and meat to a low-fat, plant-based diet will vanquish your acne problems. Without a doubt, there are aspects of the rich Western diet that cause the skin to deteriorate and become unsightly. This is not normal and it is not natural. It is a disease.

How Diet Causes Acne

1) The amount of fats and oil (sebum) on the skin increases as the amount of fat in the diet increases. By changing ones diet to include near total rejection of fat or, conversely, the inclusion of fat as the near total source of food, it is shown that the amount of sebum excretion will be greatly changed. It should be noted that it takes little fat to clog pores, feed bacteria and cause acne in persons who are susceptible. These offending bacteria do as well on vegetable oil as they do on animal fats.

2) Our rich Western diet causes an elevation in sex hormones which encourages early puberty. Early pubescence of women has been shown to be related to the onset of severe acne. Excess male hormones in women and men are well understood to bring about acne and elevated sebum excretion.

3) The sebaceous glands (oil producing) are negatively affected by growth hormones allowing them to be plugged more easily. IGF-1 (Insulin-like growth hormone-1) has been shown to become elevated by consuming meat and dairy foods. Studies show that an increase in acne is related to an increase in IGF-1.

Other items that may have a smaller role are:

4) Lack of other plant-derived nutrients and anti-oxidants cause deterioration in health thus promoting acne.

5) A diet high in fat causes poor blood circulation to the skin making one more prone to acne.

6) Hands and fingers in contact with greasy foods such as French fries can cause acne when transferred by touch to the skin. This clogs the pores and provides nourishment for bacteria.

Natural Cure and Prevention of Acne

We all know that teenage surging hormones and acne are related but to think that puberty is the cause of acne is like saying old age is the cause of heart disease. More heart disease manifests in old age because of a lifetime of poor diet. Heart disease does not occur in areas where the inhabitants eat healthy foods such as rural Asia and Africa. Heart disease can also be cured when those afflicted switch to a healthy diet. The same is true for acne.

The horrors of acne may be the best tool one could ever have to promote a healthy diet to teenagers. After switching to a low-fat, plant-based diet you and your teenagers can expect to see an obvious decrease in the oil on your skin and hair in about four to seven days. The pimples will begin to go away in a short time following that. It may take as long as 30 days for improvement to begin to show. Absolute discipline with what one eats is vital. Even small lapses can bring a bloom of pimples within a couple of days. One evening at the local pizza place will result in crop of pustules in short order. You must adhere to a diet consisting of vegetables, fruits and starches. By all means avoid added fats such as vegetable oils, soybeans, olives, avocados, seeds, nuts and the so-called beneficial fats. Carefully wash all oils from your fingers and hands before you touch any part of your face. Use a buff pad to assist the opening of your pores. Thoroughly clean your skin. If your skin does not show improvement, then you are most likely not being strict enough in your diet. We should remember that many millions of persons who live in rural Asia and Africa, Paraguay, and Papua New Guinea are eating a low-fat, plant-based diet and they are free of acne their entire lives. There is no reason why you cant be free of acne if you adopt the same diet.

Benefits of undergoing CPR first aid certification

Many people get the chance of learning various first aid training courses etc during their student lives. This is a good thing for sure but those who don’t get that opportunity aren’t that lucky. However, in current times, as a large number of people are suffering from various heart related problems, it has become significant like never before to gain some idea about the basic heart functioning so that you can be at least in a position to take the evasive action if some of your close family members or pals get a sudden cardiac arrest. Carry on reading to know more about various life saving methods.

What is the importance of CPR? Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation aka CPR is actually an essential life-saving process operated on those who suffers from unexpected heart attack or cardiac arrest. This process helps to ease the brain functioning or more precisely it helps to continue the oxygen flow to the brain of the patient. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation basically ensures that the heart gets artificial support until the doctor or a more methodical system takes charge of the whole thing. CPR is given by using the palms in a way that is useful to compress the chest to an adequate depth (minimum 80-100 of such compressions). Successful implementation of CPR makes sure that the human heart receives appropriate assistance to pump blood besides sustaining the blood circulation process in the patient’s body.

According to the latest research reports, the number of patients getting heart attacks or getting affected by various heart related diseases is increasing with each passing day; not only in Asia but in various parts of Europe and America too this trend is quite shocking. The most crucial aspect of a cardiac arrest is the fact that you have to take action within minutes of the occurrence of the mishap; you just can’t afford to take too much time and hence comes the necessity of a vital process like CPR. The fundamental application of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation itself assures that the patient’s blood flow and the supply of oxygen don’t get hampered and it reduces severe brain damages as well. CPR is of utmost importance because if it is instructed properly then you will be able to save many lives; most of the minor heart troubles can be solved by an apt dose of CPR.

Undergoing a basic first aid training program covering CPR means you will be able to gain knowledge on various aspects of the following health problems; Adult CPR, Child CPR, Choking, Drowning, Respiratory problems and how to use an epi pen, Spinal injuries and bracing etc.
